15th Wisbech North Level Parishes Scout Group

Giant Sleepover

On the 14th/15th June 2008 five cubs and

three leaders took part in the

           Giant Sleepover.

This was an attempt to break the Guinness Book of Records record for largest number of young people not sleeping in their own beds on one night. Our cubs had to sleep in tents for at least five hours. Which they managed to do very well.

The event was sponsored by  BT,Kellogs,Woolworths,Alton Towers, and many others who supplied treats games and prizes.

Cubs also took part in a sponsored walk arround our field in aid of Save the Children Fund work in Burma.

They were also set a challenge to build a shelter out of things in the scout hut so that they could get an idea of how the children their own age are having to live after the cyclone. It made them realise how lucky they are.

They had to brush their teeth for two minutes on Sunday morning at 9am as part of the minty mouth challenge. They all had very clean teeth afterwoods.
